Brendan's First Movie

Despite what I told them, that the movie was really "Kung Fu Squirrel" they were up for a movie. It was Brendan's first time at the movies. At one point he needed to be removed from the theatre, kicking and screaming...so loudly that everyone in the theatre could hear he and Andy as they walked down the large stairway and outside. Several people were laughing and I heard one man laugh and say "he's still going!" as the sound of Brendan's displeasure went away from us.

At the end it was a success, nothing that popcorn and sprite (Brendan's first) couldn't fix. He kept sipping it and whispering to Andy "it's weird" with a smile on his face.

Dutch Wonderland

We had a great time yesterday at Dutch Wonderland. In the middle of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the park is made especially for littler kids. Probably the most amazing part of it was that just across a small stream was a large farm run by the Amish. It seemed strange to me that they live this simple life right next door to an amusement park. But we all have to live somewhere and their land was so beautiful.

Catching Up

It's been a busy few weeks here. Last week Julia was sick with her usual and prior to that we celebrated Father's Day and various birthdays. Canoe photos are from a fun Father's Day.

Julia graduated from Pre-K after a great 15 months with the wonderful Miss Jessica and Miss Mina. She's grown so much this past year and learned so much with a wonderful teacher and a great program. At graduation the children told us what they wanted to be when they grow up. For the longest time Julia has wanted to be a mommy, then when Miss Jessica became pregnant, Julia wanted to be a mommy and a teacher. So, we were all a bit surprised when at graduation she announced that she wants to be a pilot. We did a bit of talking about how she can be a mommy, teacher and a pilot.

Julia and Brendan both showed me "babies in the belly" after seeing a few too many Jon & Kate + 8. Brendan looooves to see her big belly full of babies. Julia had 100 babies in her belly and Brendan had 2, or so they said.
