So a couple of weeks ago Julia woke in the middle of the night sick and throwing up. She'd thrown up all over Big Bear!! I stood at my kitchen sink and surfaced washed the little guy at 2am desperately hoping that we could get the terrible smell out of him.
The tag says "surface wash only" so for the last 2+ years I'd always just scrubbed him with a little water and Woolite from time to time. It never really seemed to do the job and over his 2+ years with Julia he developed a pretty bad smell. I was always too scared to just throw him in the washing maching for fear that he wouldn't make it and what would we do without Big Bear?!?!
So, we woke the next morning to discover that my surface washing hadn't done the job. He was simply disgusting. It became a choice of throwing him away or throwing him in the washing machine to see if it could work it's magic and if he'd survive. So, I took last photos...just in case.
HE MADE IT! He came out smelling so fresh and so clean! I airdried him in the dryer all day and night and by the next morning he was ready. When Julia finally got him back she exclaimed "He's CLEAN!" and smelled and hugged him and told him that she missed him. Too cute.
Thank goodness it worked.
